Sweet Dreams Tea

January 14, 2022

Sweet Dreams Tea

For us, sleep is a time to relish – we get to reset, recharge, and, if we’re lucky, escape to an enchanting dreamworld. The star of our Sweet Dreams Tea recipe** is Mugwort, a nervine herb that we’ve found helpful for moving cold and stagnant energy out and away from us. Mugwort is often used for dreamwork – we reach for it when we’re trying to relax our nervous systems and keep our nightmares at bay.

Combined with the other herbs in this blend, like lavender and catnip, we feel transported to a magical and energetic place when we consume this tea, which we like best right before bedtime. Mugwort has been used as a portal to the astral realms, so if you want guidance and protection as you experiment with your dreamwork, try bundling Mugwort into a dreamstick and sleeping with it under your pillow.

You can learn more about Mugwort and experiment with this intriguing and seductive herb by subscribing to our Plant of the Month boxes. Our February Plant of the Month features Mugwort, and – in addition to other goodies – it includes dried Mugwort to experiment with and sample.

If you prefer your tea ready-made, you can also find this tea for sale on our website.

Medicinal Mushroom Soup Stock – featuring Burdock

February 23, 2022

Mushrooms are a fabulous way to support our immune, upper respiratory, and cardiovascular systems. One of the most rewarding ways to work with mushrooms is through food, especially in decoctions, reductions, or soup stocks (like this one!).

It’s important to cook mushrooms to help break down their cell walls to access the medicinal polysaccharides. Making soup stock is a great way to utilize the benefits of the herbs and the mushrooms while knowing you’re offering your body incredible nourishment.
