Yellow dock is one of the first herbs I worked with. I’ve dealt with anemia my whole life and I remember many years ago making myself a syrup out of yellow dock. Every time I smell this root, I flash back to those younger years of exploration and experimenting. I love the taste and smell of this plant! I use it still in mineral- and iron-supporting syrups and blends. It’s a great herb for the liver and digestive system, and I often use it for digestive support. It can be effective in blends for constipation or daily elimination support. Yellow dock grows wild on the farm and we harvest the roots in the spring and fall. We dry it to use in tea blends, tonics and tinctures.
Contraindications: Avoid use if you have elevated iron levels or a history of kidney stones.
