The Chocolate Love EliXXXir ended up being a formula that supported all genders and went well beyond the reproductive system.
In order to get our Meeooow on, it's important to understand that it's not just about reproductive support. It's also about supporting the endocrine, circulatory and nervous systems, which is what our Chocolate Love EliXXXir does!
Below, you can learn more about some of the ingredients we use in our Chocolate Love EliXXXir and how their actions compliment and act synergistically together to address potential imbalances that can cause low libido.
Theobroma cacao
Herbal actions of Cacao: it’s high in antioxidants, it's cardiotonic, a nervine, nutritive, a stimulant and an aphrodisiac.
Cacao/Chocolate: comes from the fruit of cacao trees that are native to Central and South America. The fruits are called pods and each pod contains around 40 cacao beans. Like all plants, cacao is made up of a number of constituents. Some of these chemical constituents help create the feel good, "chocolate love" high we can get from eating or drinking chocolate. Cacao has a high concentration of phenylethylamine, a chemical produced in our brain when we feel love. There are a lot of feel good vibes coming from this delicious and sacred plant.
Withania somnifera
Some of ashwagandha's herbal actions are: adaptogenic, nutritive, nervine, rejuvenative, cardiotonic and aphrodisiac.
Ashwagandha: is a wonderful plant that is part of the nightshade family and has a long history of being used as an aphrodisiac. We grow ashwagandha here in Maine as an annual and harvest the root in mid-fall. This plant is widely used in Ayurveda and is considered a rassayna, which is a tonic or nourishing herb. Tonics herbs or nourishing herbs are ones that can be used on a regular basis. I love using this plant for nourishment and supporting healthy nervous system, cardiovascular system, and reproductive system.
Rosa rugosa
Some of the herbal actions of Rose are: cardiotonic, nervine, nutritive, anti–depressant, digestive stimulant, cleansing, nerivine, aphrodisiac.
Rose: has a long history of being connected with the heart and love. On a physiological level, rose is lovely for the nervous system, female reproductive system and cardiovascular system. Energetically, rose offers love, support, and kindness to hearts that are broken, grieving or that have walled themselves off. Rose lovingly holds the heart and bears witness to whatever that person is going through.
Cinnamomum verum
Some of cinnamon’s actions are: circulatory stimulant, antioxidant, nervine and aphrodisiac.
Cinnamon: supports the nervous system, digestive system, and reproductive system and may increase energy and vitality. I like using cinnamon as a catalyst to bring warmth to blends. Also, I think it has a way of synergistically pulling the other plants together. Not to mention its sweetness just tastes so good.
These herbs work so well together and perhaps it is the synergistic qualities that make them such amazing herbs connecting our emotional and physical heart. Each herb on its own has incredible properties but perhaps it is the combination of them, in the right amounts, that sends our heart and mind a flutter. And, as all of these herbs help support good digestion and a healthy nervous system, we can be cool as a cucumber and certainly feel like our libido is being supported by these tonic herbs.
